2011 Honda Fit Is The Fit We Have Been Waiting For

The Honda Fit is a five-door hatchback that was first introduced in June of 2001; and is now in its second generation. This car is known as the Fit is Japan, China and America and as the Jazz in Europe, parts of Asia, Australia, Oceania, the Middle East and Africa. The Fit/Jazz has sold over 3.5 million vehicles and is sold in one hundred and fifteen countries as of July 2010.

Since its debut in June of 2001 the Honda Fit has been a hit and in 2002 it outsold the Toyota Corolla. The Fit comes with a 1.2, 1.3 or 1.5 liter engine or the 1.5 VTEC, all of these based on the L-series engines. These engines use two spark plugs per cylinder, which allows gasoline to burn more completely, thus reducing fuel consumption and emissions. The L-series engines are environmentally less harmful while at the same time allow for maximized output. The Fit comes in either five-speed manual or automatic.

The Fit offers several unique features including: having the fuel tank under the front seats instead of the rear seats, magic seats which can be used in four different patterns, normal, utility, long or tall (in some markets there is an additional seating variation of refresh). These different seating options allow you to customize your Fit depending on your needs and change those arrangements easily.

The Honda Fit is produced in five countries, Japan, Brazil, China, Thailand and Indonesia. Although the exact specifications for the Fit vary depending on the country, in which it is being sold. In the United States, the Fit went on sale in 2006 and quickly replaced the Civic as the entry-level subcompact car. The Honda Civic has undergone changes in the last few years that have lead to its 2001 reclassification as a compact, instead of a subcompact. Due to safety regulations in the United States, the Fit offers standard safety features such as power windows, standard side airbags and side curtains, ABS and mandatory front airbags. The Fits sold in North America have larger bumpers, a longer front clip due to our increased safety standards. Honda has done a remarkable job of tailoring the Fit to each country in which it is sold and this had paid off for them in sales.

The 2011 Honda Fit introduces the Hybrid to the Fit picture. The 2011 Fit has a 1.3-liter power land and IMA system that sits within the engine bay. This is important because you do not lose luggage space. The 2011 Fit also has some minor exterior changes, which include; changes to the headlights and taillight clusters, different underbody panels, front bumper and wheel arch surrounds, all of these changes have led to increased aerodynamics.

The 2011 Fit is a surprisingly quiet, powerful, comfortable ride and is a large improvement over the earlier models. The sound deadening material that was recently introduced results in a surprisingly quiet ride for such a small car. In fact the second generation Fits are outperforming many of their competitors. This has been proven in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration tests, which have rated the Fit five of five stars in frontal driver and passenger safety, five of five stars in side driver impact safety, four of five stars in side rear passenger impact safety and four of five stars in rollover safety.

The Honda Fit has changed the way Americans view small cars and has given the small car a push in the right direction in the typically large car market. More Americans today are moving away from large SUV type vehicles and into smaller more fuel-efficient models. The 2011 Honda
